This hands-on experience combines history, flavor, and participation in a dynamic format designed for modern travelers.

STEP 1: INTRODUCTION TO ANDEAN CULINARY WORLD

Begin your Cusco cooking class with a warm welcome and introduction to Andean gastronomy.
Explore the history and traditions behind one of the oldest culinary cultures in Peru.

STEP 2: PACHAMANCA - HANDS ON EXPERIENCE
Learn how to prepare Pachamanca in Cusco, a traditional dish dedicated to Mother Earth.
In this Andean cooking class, Pachamanca is prepared in a clay pot, making it practical, interactive, and easy to recreate at home.
While the ingredients marinate, you will prepare dressings and learn the foundations of Andean flavors.
Vegetarian options with trout and prawns are available.

STEP 3: TAMALES FESTIVAL
Continue your Cusco Andean cooking class by preparing traditional Peruvian tamales in different styles — sweet, savory, green, and yellow.
During this hands-on moment, you will learn how Cusco local ingredients and techniques come together to create one of the most beloved dishes in Andean cuisine.
A fun and interactive experience that adds depth and variety to your Cusco culinary journey.

STEP 4: EXPLORE OUR PRIVATE ANDEAN MARKET
Step into our interpretive center “El Mercado”, a private and exclusive Andean market within our venue designed to introduce you to the diversity of Andean ingredients in a comfortable and immersive way. Here, you will discover many of the Peruvian super foods. This setting allows you to explore each ingredient up close — touch, smell, and photograph them freely — while gaining a deeper understanding of their origin and role in Andean cuisine.

By bringing this experience into a dedicated space, we are able to offer a more focused, efficient, and enriching moment within your Cusco Andean cooking class.

STEP 5: CHICHA’S TASTING EXPERIENCE
Take a moment to explore the traditional flavors of the Andes through a guided tasting of local beverages. You will try chicha morada, chicha de quinua, chicha de jora, and frutillada — each one with its own story, flavor, and cultural significance.

A refreshing and cultural pause within your Pachamanca in Cusco experience.

STEP 6: UCHUCUTA - TRADICIONAL ANDEAN SAUCE
Discover one of the essential flavors of Peru Andean cuisine by preparing uchucuta, a traditional pepper-based sauce.
Using a batán (stone grinder), you will learn an ancestral technique still used in the Andes today.

This Cusco cooking hands-on process connects you directly with the roots of Peruvian cooking and enhances the flavors of your final dishes.

IMPORTANT NOTES

- Vegetarian & Vegan Options
Pachamanca is traditionally prepared with pork and chicken. For vegetarian or vegan participants, these proteins are replaced with mushrooms and eggplant cubes, maintaining the essence and flavor of the dish.

- Participation Format
The experience is designed for two participants per clay pot. If one participant follows a vegetarian or vegan diet, both participants will share the same vegetarian preparation.

- Private Experience Option
This experience is available as a private service at 10:00 AM, with a minimum of 2 participants, at a rate of $150 per person. For single participants requesting a private experience, the equivalent of two participants will be required.
